The beautiful campus!

Today had two classes: history and painting. The first class was not to start until 10:45, so we were in no hurry waking up this morning. In our history class, we learned about the earliest civilizations in Mesopotamia. It's like learning the same thing we learned in KCIS, only more detailed (after all, it IS college level). We're going to have to start reading The Epic of Gilgamesh, which is the earliest recorded epic of all time.

We phoned Naomi after class and waited for her to pick us up at the parking lot. Since Naomi was busy talking to people, she was late in arriving. Priscilla and I waited for about 30 minutes. Having nothing else to do, I took some pictures.
Can you see the big, pinkish building at the very left of this photo? That's one of the Kahala Tower buildings, where Aunt Jean lives.

Mokihana, where we have our ASL class and English class.

These kinds of plants can be seen all over the campus.

Here is the place where we usually wait to be picked up.

bored.. waiting....

We went home, had a quick lunch, then each went to our individual classes. I went to the painting class. We did nothing very artistic today. Since we are going to start using oil paint for real next week, we had to prepare some things. The teacher gave us some square pieces of cardboard, which we had to paint over with two layers of gesso (gooey white stuff used as base for oil and acrylic paint so that the paint won't soak through the board). That took the whole class... almost 2 hours.

Met up with Erin who had also finished her class, stopped at subway to grab a 6inch sub to share, then walked home. The sandwich was good! :P

At around 6:00, Priscilla left for her tap dance class. We ordered Japanese takeout food for dinner since no one felt like cooking. I ordered some seafood mix on hard noodle (katayakisoba). It was better than expected.

We had our prayer meeting shortly after 8:00pm. We had decided to add a Bible-reading time to the meeting, so Naomi read a chapter of Psalm. Next week is my turn to read a chapter!

I hope that all the KCIS kids are having fun at camp!

Ooo ... your campus looks so nice. I'm looking forward to seeing your oil painting. I'm sure it will turn out well ;-)
Today, thanks to your parents, especially your mom, I could take Elfie 2 to the Kotori Hosp. You can read more about it in my blog.
